Blood Tests
All blood tests must be authorised by a GP.
If secondary care (i.e. a hospital or other clinic) has requested a blood test then they must provide you with the labels and/or forms and/or bottles for the test as per pre-arranged agreement. Once you have received the labels or bottles from them you can then contact our reception in order to book an appointment for the test.
Urine Samples
The Practice will not dip or send away any urine samples to the laboratory unless a GP or Nurse Practitioner has been spoken to first and has agreed that a sample be left in.
If a sample is left in without approval by a GP or Nurse Practitioner then it will be discarded without notification.
This policy is in place in accordance with antibiotic guidelines.
